Experimenting with the abstraction of bodies in settings reminiscent of landscapes and stained glass, I have been exploring the connection between feminine energy, pleasure, and the natural world. The abstractions are imbued with spiritual qualities through utilization of balance, pattern, color harmonies, and levels of transparency, and also play with the idea of touch (or the absence of it.) I am interested in the relationship between the body and the immaterial, the natural and the synthetic, and the intersection of sensuality and humor. Many of my paintings are dreams of a better place, though they’re heavily rooted in the present and its commodities.
